We have been slowly remodelling our house for the past few years. It has been a long, hard, painful process. First we remodelled the back room. The owners before us closed in the porch and left the stucco on the walls in stead of putting drywall up. We had to tear out the stucco and put up drywall. We also had to put insulation in the ceiling, because they didn't put that up either. While doing that, we decided to remodel our kitchen also. We changed the position of the sink, dishwasher, and stove. We filled in a doorway and took out a sliding glass door that separated the add on from the dining room, We put all of the debris in the back yard, since it had no other place to go. We received many notices from our HOA to clean up our back yard or we would be fined. We cleaned the back yard many times. Since we have been remodelling and taking stuff out of the house, we have used the back yard as storage too. We received more notices to clean the yard. Finally, Kevin and I were tired of receiving notices. Kevin decided to put up a wood fence, instead of the screen fence that was up. It looks awesome. You did a fantastic job Kevin!
Next comes different paint, baseboards, a chair rail for Kylee's room, and then the guest bathroom. Just gotta take it one step at a time!
Since we remodelled the kitchen, as stated in the previous paragraph, we have had concrete for a kitchen floor. We hoped that we would get laminate flooring in before we had Kylee. That didn't happen. We then wanted to get it in before she started crawling, but that didn't happen either. But, we finally got most of the flooring in. We spent the morning of President's day putting in our wood floor. Kevin was in charge of using the circular saw and measuring the wood to the length we needed. I was in charge of locking the floor in place and making sure there were no spaces between the pieces. Well, there was only one incident that day. Thank goodness it didn't involve Kevin and the saw. Yes, it involved me......and a HAMMER. I was looking at a piece of wood while trying to hammer another piece of wood against it so there wouldn't be any gaps. Well, needless to say....I missed. I hit my index finger. It hurt so bad. I immediately put an ice pack on it. It then began to swell, turn purple, and hurt like crazy. The swelling has gone down some, but it still hurts a little bit. Anyway, here is our almost finished kitchen floor.
